Necktie Skeletons and Neutral Toned Textiles
If you ever wondered what is inside of a necktie, now you know. Some use felt, others cotton weave, some are a muslin. But regardless of the material I saved them and used them to create this one piece wrap around dress. The pattern is from the 1950s and will appear several times over the course of Hoard Couture. The original 2016 piece was redone and much improved in 2023 as I have learned so much over the years and vastly increased my inventory of available bits and pieces. the greatest change however, is that I mistakenly switched the front to the back and corrected the fit thinking I must have really been a bad seamstress to have it so wrong. Only upon comparing a before and after photo did I realize my error. The new version is far and away better than the original however, regardless of the 180 degree flip. it also sort of stares at you!
