Tied and Textures Maxi Dress
“Open neckties hand sewn front to back dramatically fall from the crochet bodice of this maxi dress to attach over a solid hoop so the garment moves at 2 different paces.”
Above is the commentary read while this garment walked the runway. I am obsessed with neckties with all their patterns, colors and materials. Neckties have become multiple garments in the Hoard Couture collection, been used for applique, been deconstructed for their skeletons and their labels will be used soon. This creation uses a discarded base dress whose skirt become a denim original piece. 16 neckties were chose for their coordinating colors and patterns and also because 16 is the number that would fit around a hula hoop. The hoop is removable because when one walks while wearing it, the hoop swings opposite of forward motion by the body….and the inside beads make noise.
