Dress #31 "Our inner child is always connected to us."

2013 / #11

-kinex
-copper phone wire

A bin of kinex pieces that had once been a Ferris wheel set. Other sets such as the T-rex and the roller coaster have long since been given away as this toy is the worst ever for children. Way too difficult to work with, it hurts the fingers to make them connect. Curves are almost impossible, everything is very static. 4 gallon sized zip lock bags full of these things were given to the military during a “Projects for the Troops” event back in the mid 00’s. The troops needed non battery operated stuff to use out in the battle field to keep them occupied. I hope they were given to the enemy because these things are frustrating!

Somehow I lost a body form, or got an extra stand set, so this worked out well as a media for no dress form. I created the dress as if the form was there, but in essence it is a reverse situation of the Emperor and his new clothes. My son got the mechanical part to work so the corsage will spin.
