Robotots
40 x 30
2011/#6
My take on the toddler beauty queen pageant phenomenon, Robotots depicts a few of the “types of toddlers” born of evil stage mothers. Ever notice how the mothers all seem to be a bit “out of shape” compared to the standards of the industry? My announcer behind the podium is barely visible but that figure represents the mega-mommas. The fallen girl is held upright by her overly stiff dress and has lost the wig and flipper (false teeth inserts) so necessary to be in a “glitz” show. The blonde in the “outfit of choice” category is little miss cocoanuts with her obligatory spray tan and emphasis on grown woman assets. The gal in purple has way too many hair extensions, overly done false eyelashes, the poofy socks with layers of ruffles and her sash from a previous title. She stands in perfect queen formation with a super smile on her perfect teeth. The blue dressed redhead has tried on the super sized crowns given out and discovered they are not to be worn for real, just displayed in the home. The crown contains a not so subliminal message. My final girl is totally overwhelmed by the feathers and fluffy froo-froo of her custom made dress. . We all know that these little ladies just love these competitions and mom would let her quit anytime she is no longer having fun! Not
