In All Her Morning Glory
In All Her Morning Glory
24 x 36
2000 / #7
A very early piece in the series, “Morning Glory” as I have nicknamed her (all my pieces have nicknames or code names that I use to identify them for inventory purposes) is about the concept of beauty and being happy with one’s self. This character is celebrating a great morning and raising a toast to her own well being. The mug and sign language of ‘I love you’ echo her smile and comfortable pose. Her smile is a bit tarnished however and despite the face cream, this piece lets you know that what is inside cannot be hidden by what is outside. She has on her jewelry and her makeup and is feeling good about herself. The house and dishes and everything else can wait. A little self-indulgence never hurt anybody and this painting will make you smile. It is one of my most widely exhibited pieces and has won many awards.
