Overinflated….Sense of Importance
Overinflatedâ¦.Sense of Importance
48 X 24

I had fun with this piece. The title was pushed to the extreme in many senses of the word. The float is overinflated, her lips and hair are inflated and of course, her implants got a bit out of hand. Specifically, the title refers to the telephone and her use of it. She feels so âimportantâ to be on the phone and a center of attention. The rubber duck is found in several of my bathroom or pool oriented paintings just because they are fun and a true icon of Americana. In the water to left of her raised knee, one will find a snorkel going by. Most likely, it belongs to a curious teen boy but I will let the viewer decide who it is. The pose, the jewelry, the attitude, it all contributes to the over-inflated sense of importance that the character feels.
